It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we remember and honor the life of Charlie Mendinhall — a respected mortgage professional, trusted advisor, mentor, and friend to so many throughout Martin County and beyond.

Charlie devoted more than 35 years to the mortgage industry, building a reputation founded on integrity, knowledge, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to helping others. He took tremendous pride in guiding his clients toward the best loan programs and lowest rates to fit their needs, always treating each family he worked with as more than just a transaction.

Originally from Delaware, Charlie made Martin County his home over 30 years ago and quickly became a well-known and admired figure within the local banking and mortgage community. His career was marked by exceptional achievement and leadership. From serving as Senior Vice President overseeing lending operations, to becoming Managing Consultant for the nation’s largest Mortgage Consulting firm where he trained executives and conducted bank audits, Charlie’s expertise was recognized across the industry.

Later, Charlie helped establish a new bank in Stuart, Florida, serving as Executive Vice President and creating mortgage programs specifically designed to benefit the local community. Following the successful sale of the bank after 13 years, Charlie opened his own mortgage company, where he became one of the area’s most respected and trusted lenders.

Even after 15 years as a successful business owner, Charlie continued doing what he loved most — helping people. As a Licensed Loan Originator representing the wholesale marketplace, he remained dedicated to offering clients the best opportunities possible. His honesty, professionalism, and genuine care for others earned him not only a loyal client base, but lifelong friendships and tremendous respect throughout the community.

Those who knew Charlie will remember his wisdom, generosity, leadership, and kind spirit. He was someone people trusted completely — not only for his professional expertise, but for his character and sincerity. His impact on the lives of his clients, colleagues, friends, and family will continue to be felt for years to come.
